I am a Dominican from the old school, meaning that i was born in the Dominican Republic many year ago. I reside in the U.S and have being living in the U.S for a while now.
i am writing this blog cause i am begining to find a group of individual online promoting or propaganda war again the Dominican Republic. but before we get into this discution let have some guide line straight.
Til a few year, if you ask me about Haiti, i will have tell you. " I know is next door to DR but i dont know the place we Dominican just does not venture in there" why you might add: well Haitian dont like us and there is some animasity between our people that is fuel by some people( special interested) and the history behind it.
I have founded that online, place like youtube and now organization here in the U.S and in the Dominican Republic by foreigner that seem to see one side of the issue.
I say i am reasonable, but when in danger you act, and this a repond to this haitian-Dominican issue.
If I was living in the Southwest of the U.S, you will call me a minute man, i have every right to protect the homeland where my ancestor came from, foreign and dometics. and sense in the Dominican Republic there are many special intereste group that harvesting an enemy among us that will eventually destroy whatever is that will call a Dominican Republic.
I dont care about no U.N chapter or proclamation, if this is true for us it is also true for the U.S and the mexican explosion there in the border.
Haitian are coming into DR, driving down wage and making hard for a Dominican to survive having us cross the mona passage into Puerto Rico. At firth they came to cut the sugarcane and will go back into haiti, this is a program that the United State of America started back in the 1920. it was never a Dominican foreing policy to bring foreigner to work in they field, but since the U.S need it sugar and need it cheap labor and the Dominican Republic was under U.S invasion force as well as haiti they did was they please.
After many investor make a ton of money as well as Dominican business, these became the gold standard and it became a rutine to bring Haitian into DR. Now i am not saying that no descrimination happen and that the Haitian living condition are not accurate, but w
hat kind of life will you have in Haiti,, and if in the batey is such a hard condition why dont you return where you came. many Dominican can stand the way of living in the U.S and they return back to the island. Many will say" i will rather eat platano and have no eletricity to live like a rat in U.S leaving condition( apartament). Haitian stay in the Dominican Republic because even is a bad as the intenational community claim it is, is even worse in they own homeland, at list is it safe for these reported to venture into the Dominican Republic batey and interview these foreigner about they living condition. I want to see them do the same thing in Haiti without and military or private security bodyguard.
